Prefabricated construction (PC), as an innovative construction method, revolutionizes the way of production as opposed to the traditional cast-in-place method. The efficiency of managing the prefabricated construction supply chain (PCSC) profoundly impacts the ultimate outcome of a prefabricated construction project. However, the security and confidence of quality information cannot be guaranteed in the centralized management systems currently, and identifying the responsible for the quality information is complicated because of the imperfection and imprecision of information. To resolve these issues, this paper proposes a multi-blockchain enabled framework for quality information tracing in prefabricated construction supply chain to strike a balance between private data sharing and the security of this information. Firstly, a blockchain-based three-layer framework for quality information management in the PCSC is designed. Secondly, based on the proposed PCSC framework, we integrate three crucial technologies: multi-chain architecture and its storage mechanism, cross-chain information sharing module, and smart contract enabled a more secure and streamlined quality information tracing process. This study provides a novel solution for the issues of the lack of security and traceability of information, and promotes the development of informationization in the prefabricated construction supply chain.
