Abstract

In this presentation, an overview of the second in a series of CBC White Papers is presented. In this second paper, the focus is on Distributed Information and BIM Total Lifecycle. It explores the potential impact of blockchain in alleviating major construction sector challenges; is designed for use by policymakers and industry practitioners; aims to map complexities, disruptions and contradictions of Building Information Modelling (BIM) within the construction total lifecycle; presents opportunities for future policy and compliance by reviewing developments in BIM and construction automation and examining how DLT and Blockchain may play a role in the advancement of BIM and the digital transformation of construction generally; and takes into consideration the growing concerns of cybersecurity in digital This presentation explains the rationale for the white paper, providing an outline of its contents and then discusses the recommendations made.
