Abstract

In the rapidly evolving landscape of the digital economy, blockchain technology emerged as a transformative force, particularly within the realm of digital art and design. This workshop, led by Luis Fraguada from McNeel Europe, delved into the novel intersection of blockchain and 3D design through the lens of non-fungible tokens (NFTs). Focusing on the Tezos blockchain and the HicEtNunc marketplace, participants gained practical insights into how blockchain can be leveraged to tokenize and mint 3D geometry as NFTs.

The workshop guided participants through the fundamentals of blockchain, the Tezos network, and the HicEtNunc platform. From understanding the underlying technology to creating and minting 3D NFTs, attendees were equipped with the knowledge and skills to navigate decentralized design economies. The aim was to empower designers, artists, and enthusiasts to embrace this innovative paradigm, fostering a more inclusive, secure, and transparent ecosystem for digital creators within the DC I/O 2021 conference.
